I really like the look of the iron stairs and the designs on the side. It gives an elegant look that can be antique or modern. In a simple, neutral room it adds design and detail to the room. Usually stairs are now wooden with simple designs and very traditional. I like how just the floral design or curves can make a difference an tie the space together.

This is a good post Vicky. Try to make a few more observations about the idea you're presenting. I notice in both of these pictures the designer has used several 'iron' ish elements like the light fixtures and door... Even the scroll work on the floor and side table work to tie the look together. What are draw backs of using iron?
